Optus’ owner has confirmed it is exploring options after The Australian Financial Review reported it was considering offloading the telco to Canadian group Brookfield.
Singtel disputed a deal is imminent at that valuation, but confirmed it regularly does “strategic reviews of our portfolio to optimise the value of our assets and businesses and will explore all options to maximise shareholder value”.
Ms Ho joined Temasek Holdings as director in early 2002 and became chief executive officer in January 2004. She held that role till 2021 and helped grow the Temasek portfolio to more than $US313 billion. Ms Ho is currently chairperson of the sovereign fund’s philanthropic operations, Temasek Trust.Brookfield last year sold its stake the NZ group to Infratil and has been trying to sell all or part of TDF.
The competition watchdog’s latest quarterly report on market share of the national broadband network, released on Thursday, found that Aussie Broadband, Vocus and Superloop gained over 62,000 wholesale services in the December quarter while the total number of residential broadband services remained steady.Aussie Broadband’s services rose by more than 30,000 while Vocus and Superloop each increased their services by around 15,000 each.

Optus Fails to Upload Customer Information, Putting 200,000 Mobile Customers at RiskThe Australian Communications and Media Authority found that Optus failed to upload required customer information to the integrated public number database, leaving close to 200,000 mobile customers at risk.
