“You know why I support them?” she continued.
She also shot down critics of Harry and Meghan. “I don’t think anybody else has any right to say anything,” she said. “When a person has sat and thought about, ‘What is the best decision to make for my family?’ and then he makes that decision, none of us have any right to say anything about that.” King also chimed in, continuing to defend Harry and Meghan from critics who have lambasted the Sussexes for supposedly “blindsiding” the royal family with their announcement.
“They didn’t make the decision in a vacuum,” King said. “There were a lot of conversations. That’s why I thought it was very unfair to say that the queen was blindsided. Even the queen’s own statement said these conversations have been going on for months.”
