Every day it seems, Texas newspapers publish the stories of women who are not receiving immediate reproductive health care due to collateral damage from SB8. The Houston Chronicle has published.
The collateral damage of SB8 is bad enough. Women who are not seeking abortions are already being denied medications and life-saving care. But the fact that Texas Republican state officials are seeking to enforce the collateral damage, points to these not being unintended consequences at all. Texas Republicans should not be allowed to continue to negatively impact our lives.

Jodey Arrington of Lubbock, is quoted as saying that “this abortion on demand legislation…” A Republican summary says Democrats are trying to create a national policy “that allows for terminating a pregnancy at any stage for any reason.” Nonsense. The bill is clearly not abortion on demand and in terms of fetal protections it reflects the Roe v. Wade decision.
