Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro and Yuta Okkotsu from Jujutsu Kaisen
Jujutsu Kaisen's Satoru Gojo has always been known as the strongest Sorcerer of the modern era, and while he has a massive influence on the battlefield, he might have an even bigger influence off of it.
Jujutsu Kaisen goes out of its way to highlight that Gojo is in a league of his own. Beneath his incredible power is a man willing to help the next generation, making a concerted effort to guide his juniors when he can. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Yuta Okkotsu's English voice actor, Kayleigh McKee, had some great points about why Satoru Gojo has become such a great mentor to the current generation of Jujutsu Sorcerers. Jujutsu Kaisen's Third Season Is Unreal Jujutsu Kaisen has always been good, but the third season has been truly special. The first season was solid, and the second season was great, but the third season has truly shown the heights of the series in a way nobody could have seen coming. The animation has been crisp, the fights have been some of the best in anime, and it looks like it's only getting better from here. The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen animated the first part of The Culling Games Arc, one of the best arcs in the entire franchise. The Culling Games Arc is made up of several smaller arcs that are all stand-out moments in the series. Maki's annihilation of the Zen'in Clan, Yuji's brawl with Higuruma, and the entire Sendai Colony Arc are three of the best moments in modern shōnen. While the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen has been spectacular, one character has, somewhat surprisingly, been absent through the entire season: Satoru Gojo. It's not often that a franchise will exclude one of its most popular characters, and even less often that the series can thrive without him. Satoru Gojo Has Always Been Known as the Strongest Out of every Jujutsu Sorcerer and Curse User in Jujutsu Kaisen, there is nobody as omnipresent as Satoru Gojo. Even when he's not on-screen, the series' narrator is comparing characters and events to him, showing how ubiquitous he really is. He's known as one of the strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, and it's easy to see why. His technique is incredible, and his mastery over it is equally impressive. He's a deterrent to war in and of himself, and that's saying something. His sheer presence defines the series, and even when he's not around, his ideals and actions are still felt. Just Because Gojo Is Gone Doesn't Mean His Presence Isn't Felt When most anime characters aren't on-screen, their presence isn't felt. It's a straightforward idea, and it applies to nearly every character in anime, with the sole exception of Satoru Gojo, of course. Gojo is treated as a weapon by the higher-ups in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen who don't care about his humanity whatsoever. Being raised as the Chosen One, Gojo understands what it's like to be used. He's spent most of his life as an object in the eyes of the conservative governors of Jujutsu Society and has worked hard to make sure that doesn't happen to his juniors. Related Gojo's 10 Best Jujutsu Kaisen Quotes, Ranked Never at a loss for words, Jujutsu Kaisen's Gojo had an exceptional gift of gab. It wasn't all braggadocio, though, much was quite profound. Posts By Marcel Green Yuta Okkotsu makes a point of this in the final episode of season three. When Ryu Ishigori woke up after his battle with Yuta, he wondered why the young Sorcerer didn't kill him. Yuta simply told him to"thank my friends," referencing Gojo and his influence. Gojo Has a Massive Influence in Jujutsu Kaisen off of the Battlefield In an exclusive Screen Rant interview with Jujutsu Kaisen voice actors Adam McArthur and Kayleigh McKee, McKee had this to say about Yuji and Yuta's mentor.I feel like Gojo was that first part in, in Yuta's support network. That's what Gojo does better than other characters do. Partially because he knows he's strong, but I feel like Gojo feels like an outsider himself because of how different he is. He is the chosen one, but it also caused him to be separate from everybody. And so he sees these kids that conservative Jujutsu society says"They are dangerous. They're a lost cause. We should get rid of them for the health of Jujutsu sorcery." And I feel like he wasn't afraid to stand up and fight against that for what he thought was right, while at the same time recognizing that they're kids and he wants them to be able to be kids despite what is happening to them." McKee makes a great point in that Gojo might be one of the strongest around, but he's more than that to Yuta and Yuji. He's been someone they can rely on, someone they can look up to, and someone they can emulate. He's even willing to go against the higher-ups of Jujutsu Society to protect them both, and it's paid off massively. Gojo Is Becoming the Most Crucial Character in Anime Satoru Gojo has so much influence on the world of Jujutsu Kaisen that it's amazing he isn't the main character. The fact that he's a side character is an even bigger testament to his character, showing that while he might be the strongest, the story isn't about him. It's about Yuji, Yuta, Megumi, and the latest generation of Sorcerers, Sorcerer's he's worked hard to guide and protect. Gojo basically raised Megumi and saved him from the Zen'in Clan. He taught Yuta to control his latent abilities and made him one of the most dangerous characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. Yuji and Gojo have an amazing relationship as well, as Yuji is one of the few characters in the series that doesn't really care about Gojo's strength and instead cares about who he is as a person. Somehow, Gojo is even more than the strongest, even more than one of the most popular characters in anime. He's a guide, a mentor, and a stalwart defender of who he cares about. McKee's quote perfectly encapsulates who he is, who he tries to be, and how much that has benefited the Sorcerers who've come after him.
