Chandler police say the incident happened after 12:30 p.m. in the area of Gilbert and Pecos roads.
One hospitalized after police shooting A homeowner, who was not home at the time, called police after observing someone allegedly attempting to burglarize their home on surveillance video. According to police, when officers were outside the home the alleged burglar opened the garage, saw officers, and ran into the home.
The man then entered the backyard, allegedly armed with a rifle. Police say the man refused to listen to commands to drop the weapon, and that's when two officers opened fire.No officers were injured, and police do not believe there are any additional suspects involved.
