The charged stem from a drug overdose of a 16-year-old in February where the victim was found with fentanyl in her system

OKALOOSA COUNTY , Fla. - The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl, who was found deceased in her bedroom earlier this year.

Deputies responded to a home on Miller Street in Fort Walton Beach in February, where they discovered the girl dead. An investigation at the scene revealed several pills that were later identified as fentanyl. The suspect, 17-year-old Sa Qualen Grant, is accused of providing the victim with the drugs that led to her death. OCSO investigators determined that the victim and Grant had arranged to meet at a public location, where the victim purchased the pills from him.

Authorities were able to secure and review CCTV footage showing the hand-to-hand transaction between the victim and Grant. Despite initially denying any knowledge of the victim, evidence from Grant’s phone and the video footage contradicted his statements. The medical examiner’s report confirmed that the cause of death was fentanyl intoxication. Grant has been charged with homicide-aggravated manslaughter of a child in connection with the case.Mobile County judge dismisses Prichard murder charge after detective no-showsBay Minette’s Pine Grove Elementary School book nook features book vending machine
