Ohio State dominated Purdue from start to finish on Saturday.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana — Amidst a gray, windy Indiana day at Ross-Ade Stadium, Ohio State did its part to make Saturday afternoon boring.

In a 41-7 win over Purdue, Ohio State played a clearly overmatched Purdue team and did what it had to do to ensure that there was no thought of a competitive game. The offense took an early lead. The defense stood tall when it had to. And after a solid opening drive from the Boilermakers, there were hardly any sustained drives for the rest of the first half.

After back-to-back slow starts for the Ohio State offense, the offense Saturday scored on its first two drives of the game. Then after a fumble into the end zone, the offense scored once more to take a 20-point lead into halftime. On the first two drives of the second half, the Buckeye offense found the end zone, too.

With a big game looming next week, the Buckeyes did what they needed to do to put to rest any thought of a competitive game against the Boilermakers.Ohio State went into the game without star wideout Emeka Egbuka and running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams. Marvin Harrison Jr. is also battling an injury he sustained against Notre Dame.
