COLUMBUS, Ohio—Gov. Mike DeWine has again extended Ohio National Guard troops’ deployment to Washington, D.C., this time until the end of February 2026, according to a Guard spokeswoman. Guard members will now continue to be rotated in through Feb. 28, 2026, according to Heidi Griesmer, deputy director of communications for the Ohio National Guard. The extension came at the request of General Steven S. Nordhaus, the chief of the National Guard Bureau, according to DeWine spokesman Dan Tierney.
