Tianthony Wagner, 42, is facing criminal charges related to injuring animals, reports say.
the video shows Wagner grab a shovel from a carport and begin swinging it the dogs. The shovel hits one of the dogs, Pablo, a 5-year-old Chihuahua, reportedly causing serious injuries. Reports did not say what might have spurred the attack.
An official with Proud Pups Rescue Inc. says in a Facebook post that Pablo was discharged from an animal hospital Monday but still is recovering. The group says Pablo still requires around-the-clock care. “It made me physically ill. He has a severe brain injury,” Michelle Marcis of Proud Pups Rescue tells WCPO.
“It’s hard to imagine someone being able to hurt a sentient being like that. They can’t speak for themselves or stand up for themselves.” Timothy McKenna, a lawyer for Wagner, tells WXIX that Wagner is a military veteran and is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
