Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed a bill that prohibits ranked-choice voting in the state. The law bans the method for statewide elections and would cut state funding for any local municipality using it. The bill was introduced by a Republican Senator and supported by some Democrats.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Gov. Mike DeWine signed a bill into law on Tuesday that effectively bans ranked-choice voting in Ohio . Under ranked-choice voting , voters do not select their favorite candidate. Instead, they rank candidates in order of preference.
