Ohio State got its resume win two weeks ago against Purdue, then won three straight games to step off the NCAA Tournament bubble. The only suspense left during Sunday's bracket release revolved around logistics. The Buckeyes earned a No. 8 seed and will open tournament play against 9th-seeded TCU on Thursday in Greenville, S.C. Tip time likely will be announced later Sunday. Ohio State spent much of February in the Last Four In and First Four Out sections of bracketologists' projections. Then, on March 1, the Buckeyes upset top-20 Purdue for that precious headlining triumph, and closed with two more regular-season wins before adding an insurance W over Iowa in the Big Ten tournament, which Purdue just won less than an hour before the bracket reveal. If the Buckeyes beat TCU, their reward would be a second-round game against top overall seed Duke on Saturday.
