The Bureau of Criminal Investigation confirmed Wednesday they have completed their review of Frank Tyson’s death in police custody case.

CANTON , Ohio - The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations confirmed Wednesday they have completed their review of Frank Tyson ’s death in police custody case.Steve Irwin with the BCI says the review was completed on Aug. 30.

Wednesday afternoon, Stark County Prosecutor Kyle Stone told 19 News the case had yet to be presented to a Grand Jury to determine whether the Canton Police officers involved will face criminal charges.Frank Tyson, 53, died in police custody on April 18 at a local hospital after a traffic stop turned into a police chase and crash.Inside the club, Tyson struggled with police.

After being taken to the ground and handcuffed lying on his stomach, Tyson told officers he couldn’t breathe.Tyson was taken to a local hospital where he died, still in handcuffs. The Stark County Coroner’s Office ruled Tyson’s death a homicide with contributing causes including acute intoxication by cocaine and alcohol and cardiopulmonary arrest.Coroner’s office rules Frank Tyson’s death as homicide while in Canton Police custodyProsecutor Stone says he’ll be speaking at Monday’s city council meeting about the process involving police use-of-force cases.
