Oakland residents Caroline and Sean Sorenson walked the Cumbria Way in England ’s Lake District in July. It is 95 miles, mostly through the Lake District . We walked through farmland, mountains, valleys, moors and near many fabulous lakes. We used, who booked all of our B&Bs and transported our luggage. The Lake District is a very popular destination in the summer, so it’s much easier to have a travel company book the accommodation for you.
Definitely take at least one rest day to enjoy the small towns you pass through — and a raincoat is essential! We planned one rest day and ended up taking another one, so that we could ride on the Join the fun!
