NYPD to increase Trump Tower patrols after shots fired at Donald Trump rally
New York City will increase police patrols at Trump Tower and other locations on Saturday after U.S. Secret Service agents rushed a bloodied Donald Trump from the stage after gunshots rang out at a rally for his presidential campaign in Pennsylvania.
Trump Tower, the Trump-owned 40 Wall St., Foley Square and City Hall are among the sites where extra police officers will be deployed, Levy said.“Sending my prayers to former President Trump, his family, and everyone who was at today’s event,” Adams said. “Political violence has no place in this country.”
“This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available,” Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said. Federal and New York state and city officials widely condemned the shooting, which many of them decried as an act of political violence.
