Gleyber Torres had yet another forgetful game Tuesday night.
It was then at Citi Field that Torres went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts and a walk and allowed a groundball to go past him during an infielders-in situation with runners at first and third in the sixth inning.
But the moment that tipped WFAN’s Brandon Tierney over the edge came when Torres jogged to first base on a groundball to shortstop after Aaron Judge had pulled the Yankees to within 9-7 via a grand slam in the eighth inning. It’s easy to jump on a guy when he’s struggling — and Torres’ .215 average, .628 OPS and seven home runs make him a target.
“You tell me,” Torres said when asked about how he assesses his play. " I think it’s bad. I have to figure out getting better. I’m working really hard.”Juan Soto loves Yankees but admits free agency is ‘going to be fun’ What channel is the New York Yankees vs. New York Mets game on today ? | FREE LIVE STREAM, time, TV, channel for Subway Series gameThank you for relying on us to provide the journalism you can trust.
