The Yankees and Orioles play the middle game of their three-game series on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.
Yankees center fielder Aaron Judge wasn't happy after fearing his left hand was broken when he was hit by a pitch in the third inning of Tuesday night's 4-2 win over the Orioles.third baseman DJ LeMahieu was mad even though he didn’t raise his voice above his usual really soft-spoken volume while he stood at his locker talking to two reporters.LeMahieu was upset with the Orioles journeyman starting pitcher who had the Yankees and all of Yankee Nation scared to death Tuesday night.
“When you go up and in on our player and hit him, and then do it again to Gleyber, you’re not going to be happy about it,” LeMahieu said.The Yankees were relieved hearing after the game that Judge’s X-rays were negative and happy that Torres was just clipped on his finger and uninjured, but that didn’t make them any less bothered by the two hit by pitches.
Yeah, right. Cortes was sending a message right back to the Orioles that the Yankees can play this dangerous little game, too. After the game, Verdugo smiled when he realized his yelling had been captured by a television camera.
