Crown Resorts has kept its license to run its Sydney casino after an independent commission said it was a vastly different business after a probation period.
NSW Independent Casino Commission chief commissioner Philip Crawford said Crown had "recognised the need to change its culture" and embraced "concepts of sustainability and responsible gambling".
Crown Sydney was given conditional approval to open its casino at Barangaroo in June 2022, 16 months after being deemed unfit to hold a gaming licence.Mr Crawford today said the NICC was mindful of the "dark places this company was in only a few years ago, the shocking evidence emerging from the Bergen inquiry".
