Previewing the challenges that the Louisville offense presence on Saturday night against Notre Dame
On Saturday night, Notre Dame is set for an important battle against an undefeated Louisville team on the road. When talking about Louisville’s offense, there is a lot of speed and playmakers to deal with.
There are several very unique challenges that Notre Dame will have to be ready for. Here are a couple matchups that will be important for the Irish to win.If there is a part of the Louisville offense that is most daunting, it’s the amount of speed they possess at the skill positions. At wide receiver, they are especially explosive, dynamic and deep. It all starts with former Georgia State transfer, who is one of the very best wide receivers on the schedule.
If Notre Dame is able to handle the wide receivers, it’s going to be tough sleeping for Louisville. Their run game is also built off of big plays and that isn’t sustainable against a defense that keeps everything in front of them. That’s what Notre Dame will need to do.It is hard to imagine the Notre Dame interior defensive line playing much better right now. For Louisville, they sport a relatively average offensive lineman that has struggled in pass protection at times this season. Their best player by far is center. The 6-5, 305-pound offensive lineman is their most consistent player up front, and has the look of a future NFL center.Hudson will be pressed to stop two very good football players, along with players likeoff the bench. There is no question that Notre Dame has the advantage inside but Hudson is a player who can match their talent.
If Louisville gives up a bunch of penetration on Saturday, Notre Dame will almost undoubtedly win the football game by a pretty good margin. The offensive line, led by Hudson, will have to play their best game of the season.
