A look at how Notre Dame’s 2023 opponents fared this weekend
The theme of Week 5 was contenders going on the road, with only 1 of the AP Top 10 playing at home this weekend – some passed, some failed, and one of them left its defense back home in Baton Rouge. Top-ranked Georgia survived on the Plains, Michigan rolled at Nebraska, and Texas, Penn State, Washington, USC, and Oregon overcame slow starts and sloppy play to stay undefeated.
It was another up-and-down week for Notre Dame opponents, who finished the week with an overall record of 4-5 . Louisville and USC stayed undefeated but showed plenty of flaws, while Pitt and NC State looked inept offensively in disappointing losses.
