The Northeast Ohio region is experiencing an extended period of cold weather with wind chills in the single digits and teens. Snow chances will return on Friday with a system moving in from the southwest. Lake effect snow is expected to develop over the weekend and into next week. Temperatures will remain low, only reaching the lower 20s by Tuesday and Wednesday.

It has certainly been one of the colder days of our extended cold stretch. Wind chill temperatures have been in the single digits and teens throughout the day. With even the lightest breeze factored in, it will feel as if it’s in the single digits on Thursday morning. Snow chances will return to the forecast on Friday as a sprawling weather system moves in from our southwest. The system snow will move away by mid-to-late morning Saturday, and lake effect snow bands will develop in its wake.

A little clipper system will drop in from the northwest on Monday. Temperatures will only climb into the lower 20s Tuesday and Wednesday
