A Northampton man has been sentenced after stabbing a fellow nightclubber in Leicester last year. Benjamin Etsiwah re-entered the nightclub to stab the man after he had tried to defuse an earlier confrontation between Etsiwah and a member of staff.
Leicester Crown Court heard how Etsiwah had been arguing with a member of staff behind the bar when the man intervened to help. Etsiwah left the bar but made a verbal threat to the victim.The man attempted to calm the situation and followed Etsiwah outside, claiming he didn’t want any trouble. But further threats were made to him outside before he returned to the club.
Leicestershire Police launched an investigation which identified the vehicle and a number of eyewitnesses identified Etsiwah, who was arrested and charged three months after the attack. After pleading guilty to Section 18 GBH with intent, Etsiwah was sentenced to four years in prison.
