JOHOR BARU: Dewan Himpunan Penyokong PAS (DHPP) members are prepared to support and campaign for PAS in any upcoming election, says its vice president S. Surianarayanan.
"We are prepared for an election, be it a by-election or a general election. We have already identified members from each state whose names we would put forward to contest under the PAS ticket," he said.Surianarayanan added that DHPP - or the PAS non-Muslim Supporters Congress - has some 52,000 DHHP members in the country, including 300 in Johor and said that their numbers are growing.
Meanwhile, Johor PAS commissioner Abdullah Husin said that the DHPP can assist in gathering support from the non-Muslim community if snap elections were to take place. Husin said that DHPP had proved its significance to the party in past elections and he believes that the congress could further improve.
