Ferrigno repeated these sentiments to Syracuse in 2022, suggesting he was "very disappointed" with the MCU's Smart Hulk, as the Hulk should be "authentic, hideous more organic.
Ferrigno appeared as a security guard in 2003's Hulk, which wasn't a part of the MCU, and 2008's The Incredible Hulk, but also continued to play the Hulk himself for a time. In the MCU's early days, Norton and Ruffalo played Bruce Banner, while Ferrigno provided the voice of the Hulk. Ferrigno voiced the Avenger in The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, and collaborated on the Hulk's voice in Thor: Ragnarok.
