Contrary to viralled images, the ministry has assured consumers that shelves at Pahang stores are well-stocked with basic necessities, as supplies are delivered as per usual despite the ongoing Movement Control Order .
"Please verify with workers at respective supermarkets, as they would usually take a little time to restock depleted essential goods. Sharing the unverified information in a neighbourhood WhatsApp chat group would cause the public to immediately target other premises for similar items, resulting in panic buying.
Fitri said checks carried out at business premises by the ministry's enforcement team in Pahang showed that there is adequate supply of basic necessities.
