ORLANDO, Fla. — Spurs coach Gregg Popovich loves the way Jeremy Sochan has embraced the one-handed free throw that he instructed the rookie forward to use.
In 31 minutes in his 25th game, Sochan set season highs for points with 23 and assists with six. He also matched his season high for rebounds with nine. “I am more comfortable and more confident,” Sochan said. “I played with a lot of energy. Once things slow down , it’s a lot easier. I had a career night, but we still lost so it doesn’t matter.”
Whether he’s starting or coming off the bench, Sochan’s skills as a facilitator always stand out in his self-described role as a “secondary point guard.”
