No. 21 Texas avoided dropping its second straight game, pulling away over the final 30 minutes for a 41-20 win over a Roadrunners team that came out with a whole arm’s worth of tricks up its sleeves. Card completed 15-of-23 passes for 161 yards with one touchdown and no turnovers. He also ran twice for 35 yards.
Brady was involved in the second score, too. This time, the halfback handled a backward pass from quarterback Frank Harris then flung a pop-up to wideout Zakhari Franklin. The ball somehow dropped right between two Texas defenders as Franklin whirled around and grabbed the 35-yard touchdown pass to put UTSA up 17-7.
