AKRON, Ohio -Details are emerging from a New Jersey county prosecutor where a man was arrested and charged with kidnapping a person from Akron, who then escaped at a truck stop in Bloomsbury, New Jersey on March 5th.
According to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor, Asad Hasanov, 31, of Wesley Chapel, Florida met his victim online and the two met for the first time in Akron on MarchHasanov is accused of restraining his victim with tape, sexually assaulting them, and driving them across multiple state lines. While stopping at the TA Truck Stop in Bloomsbury, Hasanov allegedly allowed the victim to use the restroom. During that time, the victim was able to get the to the information desk and get help telling them they had been kidnapped. New Jersey State Police were called, and while the victim was treated at a nearby hospital, Hasanov was tracked down in his car nearly 25 miles away in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Hasanov has been charged with first-degree kidnapping, third-degree criminal restraint, and fourth-degree tampering with evidence.
