That will change as what will be Hurricane Erin misses Long Island to the south and east, but it will be close enough to bring dangerous surf and rip currents, especially in the Wednesday and Thursday timeframe. Today will be a classic late summer day — warm, sunny, and noticeably humid. Highs will reach the low- to mid-80s with a breeze around 5 to 15 mph.
