‘Megatron’ will go into the Lions Ring of Honor at halftime of this Monday Night Football matchup.
The Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions will wrap up the opening month of the 2024 NFL regular season with a Monday Night Football showdown in Motown, and it’ll be a special occasion for the Lions organization. Legendary wide receiver Calvin Johnson has somehow made it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame before his own team’s Ring of Honor, but that will be rectified this year. At halftime of the Seahawks-Lions game, ‘Megatron’ will be the latest inductee into Detroit’s “Pride of the Lions.
The rift between the Lions organization and Johnson led to Calvin not attending any Lions games or team-related events until 2023, when he attended Detroit’s 37-31 overtime loss to the Seahawks. It looks like everything is all patched up between the two sides and it’s culminated in his Ring of Honor induction. As an aside, Megatron only played three games against the Seahawks, catching 12 passes for 129 yards and 0 touchdowns.
