On Tuesday, IToday, I’m looking at the opposite direction and picking out the position groups that are not as strong this year compared to 2025. The reasons for those can be because the depth just isn’t as good, there aren’t many top-end players at that position or both.Browns deliberating on 3 head coach finalists in Nate Scheelhaase, Jim Schwartz and Todd Monken A pair of tight ends went in the top 15 last year when the Bears took Colston Loveland 10th overall and the Colts took Tyler Warren 14th overall. This year, however, it’s likely the only tight end who will go in the first round is Oregon’s Kenyon Sadiq. He’s a legitimate first-round talent. The problem is there just isn’t much behind him that is exciting at the moment. Because of that, it’s hard for me to envision this group being close to the No. 6 spot from last year. Among the intriguing Day 2 options at tight end includes Ohio State’s Max Klare, who has at least 400 yards receiving in each of his last two seasons.The defensive tackle position was ranked No. 2 for me last year, and five different DTs went in the first round including Mason Graham, who went fifth overall to the Browns. Clemson’s Peter Woods could sneak into the top 10 despite not playing as well in 2025 as he did in 2024. However, he’s likely the only DT in this class who could go in the top half of the first round. Ohio State’s Kayden McDonald is one of a couple who should go late in the first round. Florida’s Caleb Banks has a chance to work into the mix depending on how he performs at the Senior Bowl. However, without much talent at the top end, this group, while still solid, isn’t as good as a year ago.2025 was an unusually great year for running backs in the draft. Two, Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton, went in the first round. Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson also went in the top 40. This year’s class does have an elite running back in Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love, who has the potential to go in the top 10. After him, there is a very dramatic drop-off at the position. Love’s teammate, Jadarian Price, and Washington’s Jonah Coleman might be the only two running backs who could even go in the top 60.
