This October release will be part of the platform’s month-long Huluween initiative. The Boogeyman grossed $67.3 million worldwide, surpassing its estimated $35 million budget. Furthermore, The Boogeyman had the best opening weekend for a King-based film since 2019’s The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep. With a modest following already, The Boogeyman’s streaming debut will give it the chance to reach more audiences.
Viewers will have a lot to look forward to as spooky season ramps up. In addition to The Boogeyman, fall 2023 will see the release of Disney’s Haunted Mansion and a new TV series adaptation of Goosebumps. Hulu’s Huluween will also include the release of American Horror Story season 12, which kicks off on September 20.
