m. to noon Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17. The grand opening is Wednesday, March 18, when the official business hours of 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. will go into effect. Situated on the East 14th Street corridor, the sleek 2,500-square-foot shop will offer seating for 43 customers in a midcentury-modern space with high ceilings. The focal point is a mural that Philz commissioned from Bay Area artist Nigel Sussman that depicts San Leandro’s history, agricultural roots and local landmarks, from the famed cherry orchards to a favorite long-ago raceway.
