A truck with an ISIS flag was driven into a crowd in New Orleans, injuring multiple people. An investigation is underway, focusing on a potential military link and the role of an Airbnb rental.
Authorities are searching a site in Texas as they investigate an attack in New Orleans where a truck with an ISIS flag was driven into a crowd of New Year's revelers. The attacker, a Texas-born U.S. citizen and Army veteran, had a potential improvised explosive device ( IED ) in his truck, and other potential IED s were discovered in the French Quarter. The FBI is involved in the investigation.
Authorities are looking into a possible military link between the suspect and the person who died when a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill told NBC News that authorities believe multiple people were involved and that investigators suspected that explosive devices associated with the New Orleans attack were made in an Airbnb rented by those involved. The blood drive will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time (11 a.m. ET to 6 p.m. ET) both today and tomorrow at the New Orleans Blood Center. Law enforcement officials said they searched an Airbnb rental in New Orleans that may have been connected to the manufacture of IEDs tied to the attack
