A new national poll found that more voters said the war with Iran makes the world less safe rather than more secure.

A majority of voters across the U.S. oppose the war in Iran and believe it makes the world less safe rather than more secure, a poll from Quinnipiac University reveals on Wednesday.Any move to deploy thousands of U.

S. ground forces to Iran—whether to secure maritime traffic at the world’s most critical oil chokepoint or control Iranian energy or nuclear-related sites—would escalate the scope and risks of a war already disrupting global energy supplies this month and raising domestic political stakes for President Donald Trump. Spikes in oil and gas prices this month, along with threats to energy infrastructure across the region, underscore how securing the Strait of Hormuz and nearby facilities has become central to both the war’s trajectory and its potential global economic fallout.42 percent of voters think the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran will make the world less safe versus 35 percent who believe it will make the world safer, and 20 percent feel it will make no difference. Among Republicans, however, 79 percent think it'll make the world safer, along with 25 percent of independents and 2 percent of Democrats. Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy said in the survey,"Is this war in the best interest of the world's welfare? There is a yawning divide between Democrats and Republicans, and independents are clearly skeptical." The survey shows that overall, 54 percent of voters oppose military action against Iran, with 39 percent supporting it. The poll surveyed 1,191 self-identified registered voters across the country from March 19 to March 23 and has a margin of error of 3.6 percent. But among political affiliations, the division is stark. Eighty-six percent of Republicans back the military action against Iran, with 9 percent opposing it; 64 percent of independents oppose it while 28 percent support it; and 92 percent of Democrats oppose the war and 5 percent back the conflict. The poll asked voters their thoughts on Trump's handling of the war in Iran, with 34 percent approving and 59 percent disapproving. In an earlier March poll, 38 percent approved and 57 percent disapproved of the president's handling of the conflict. According to the survey, 52 percent of voters think the war with Iran has gone about the way they expected it to go for the U.S., while 13 percent find it has gone better than expected. The poll also shows that 28 percent think the war has gone worse than expected for America."The Radical Left, Country Hating Democrats are trying to create inner chaos to take away from the great military achievement we are having in Iran. They hate seeing us WIN so completely and decisively, but the American public sees what is going on. AMERICA FIRST! President DJT""Iran’s terrorist regime was developing the technology to target the United States within months. President Trump made the necessary, justified decision to protect our homeland.": Instead of posting amateur videos with juvenile memes, how about you explain to Congress and the American people your plan to stop Iran from hitting soft targets like the world’s largest liquified natural gas terminal in Qatar."that he instructed the Department of Defense to postpone any and all strikes against Iran's power plants and energy infrastructure for five days amid"very good and productive conversations" with Iran about a resolution of hostilities in the region.
