The Ohio Department of Transportation opened new Interstate 70 rest areas in Madison County, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Governor Mike DeWine and other officials. The rest areas are part of an 8-year project to improve traveler safety, experience, and accessibility, highlighting Ohio's natural and historical aspects.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine joined ODOT to celebrate the opening with a ribbon-cutting with Motts Military Museum Founder Warren Motts and ODOT Deputy Director Toni Turowski at 10:30 a.m. at one of the rest stops.
The rest stop with the ribbon-cutting is the Madison County I-70 Eastbound Rest Area, just east of Mile Post 70.The areas are part of the governor’s transformative rest area project, according to a release.
