MANILA - New health protocols are needed before salons and barber shops will be allowed to re-open in areas under general community quarantine, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said Monday.
Policies to ensure social distancing and proper hygiene should be in place before salons and barber shops are allowed to operate to lessen the chance of COVID-19 infection, Lopez told DZMM radio."Sa totoo lang, malaking debate pa ho iyon. Ang problema doon, social distancing at pag-gamit ng mga equipment," Lopez said.under GCQ. There’s a good chance na mabuksan na 'yan pero dapat may protocol," he added.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier extended the lockdown in Metro Manila and other areas considered high-risk for COVID-19. All other areas were placed under GCQ, which allows partial reopening of malls and other establishments offering essential services.
