New Braunfels is considering spending $20 million to buy a 100-acre property the city could use either for a business park or a new technical college campus. The New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation board, which manages a portion of the city’s sales tax revenue, is scheduled to vote on the purchase Thursday. If approved, the city would pay $12 million up front and another $1 million each year for the next eight years, with a 3% interest rate.

Last August, the school started a two-year advanced manufacturing program in New Braunfels at the Central Texas Technology Center, and under legislation passed it 2023, it now has the right to operate in Comal and Guadalupe counties.
