New feature gives free boost to frame rates on AMD cards in thousands of games
AMD has released the first driver to journalists that supports its new driver-based Radeon Super Resolution feature. Working in a similar way to the existing FidelityFX Super Resolution, it upscales games from lower resolutions to higher ones, with AMD claiming it provides significant frame rates boosts....
[+]The new feature does not require game-specific support and simply requires a Radeon RX 5000-series or newer graphics card to work, such as the RX 5700 XT or Radeon RX 6000-series. Sadly, anything older will currently not work with Super Resolution.... [+]As the feature is driver-based and doesn't require game-specific support unlike its similar FidelityFX feature, rather than being limited to 80+ games, Super Resolution works in thousands of games straight away.
