PETALING JAYA: National men’s singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong has received a timely boost ahead of the Malaysian Open, starting tomorrow at the Axiata Arena.
The 22-year-old Tze Yong, who reached a career-high No. 25 in the latest world rankings, was chosen to join Lee Zii Jia , Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik , Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah as one of the 100Plus ambassadors.
“I feel happy and thankful for their sponsorship and hope to repay their support with good results,” he said. However, Zii Jia has to beat Japan’s world No. 7 Kodai Naraoka to set up a possible all-Malaysian clash.“I’ve discussed with coach on the game plan and I’m prepared for a tough opening match.
Meanwhile, the F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd business director Leong Wai Yin was delighted that Tze Yong was chosen as the sixth ambassador.
