PETALING JAYA: Once bitten, twice shy.
Independent mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie are out to avoid the mistakes that resulted in them missing out on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Last year, Soon Huat-Shevon were ranked No. 11 and missed out on the Tokyo Games after finishing behind Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying, who were ranked seventh. Currently, Soon Huat-Shevon and fellow independent pair Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing are both in a good position and are Malaysia’s best bets for spots in the Paris Games.
“Also, we want to maintain our ranking from now until May, so that we will be seeded in the big tournaments.
