A new housing development worth £23.1 million, consisting of 84 homes, is proposed for Sutton-in-Ashfield. The project, named Silverhill Edge, is awaiting approval from Ashfield District Council and includes community contributions of £725,000.
A new housing development worth £23.1 million and made up of 84 homes could be built in a Nottinghamshire town, with a planning application having been submitted. The proposals have been submitted to Ashfield District Council for the development spanning across nine acres of land in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Housebuilder Avant Homes Central plans for the homes to be built on a site located off Fisher Close. The development, which would be called Silverhill Edge, is now awaiting planning permission and, if given the green light, will comprise a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes. The homes have been described as practically designed and energy efficient by the developer. Avant Homes has also committed to community contributions of £725,000, which will go towards improving local education, healthcare and public transport infrastructure.Should the development be given the go ahead, works are anticipated to start in August 2025, with the first residents expected to move in by April 2026.
"As a company, we are committed to providing quality new homes for everyone in places where people want to live. Silverhill Edge is an excellent opportunity for us to deliver on this. We now look forward to Ashfield District Council considering our plans to create a new thriving community in Sutton-in-Ashfield."
Concerns were raised over traffic, crime management and community contributions when developers initially brought forward their plans for Fisher Court back in 2021.
