Planning permission has been approved for the project
Planning permission has been secured for a new primary school in Nottingham - and it will welcome its first pupils next September. The Greenwood Academies Trust has secured approval from the Department for Education to build a new primary school in Trent Lane, Nottingham.
Reds10 was appointed by the Department for Education to be the main contractor responsible for designing and building the school, and will be creating 87 percent of the building in its factory. Offsite construction reduces the amount of carbon emitted during the construction of the building and reduce site disruption.
Joe Shepherd, Director and education Sector Lead for Reds10, said: "Reds10 are excited to be working on this project alongside DfE and Greenwood Academies Trust. The Waterside Primary Academy has sustainability principles at the core of its design and will set a new standard of performance for school buildings, under the latest DfE Spec21 guidance.
The Greenwood Academies Trust currently sponsors 37 other academies with over 18,000 pupils, and groundworks for their latest academy will start on Autumn 2023. The new school will also help to provide enough schools in the area with the Waterside community still growing.
