Eleven in Stranger things season 2
Stranger Things ended in 2025 after five seasons, but Netflix isn’t done with this world yet, and it will be rewriting the show in April. Netflix has found a lot of success with its original content, with some of them now ranking among the best TV shows of all time.
One of its biggest hits is Stranger Things, created by the Duffer brothers and which debuted in 2016. Stranger Things took viewers back to the 1980s and to the town of Hawkins, Indiana, which hides disturbing secrets. Stranger Things succeeded thanks to its creative concept, nostalgia factor, and many mysteries, and though it had its ups and downs, it had a mostly successful run of five seasons. The Stranger Things finale gave the show a definitive ending, but there are still more stories to tell. Netflix is now expanding the world of Stranger Things with the animated prequel TV series Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85, through which it will retcon the show just a couple of months after it ended. Tales from ‘85 Will Inevitably Retcon Stranger Things Developed by Eric Robles, Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85 is the first spinoff and animated take on the successful Netflix show. As the title says, Tales from ‘85 is set in 1985, which, in the timeline of Stranger Things, places it between seasons 2 and 3, and it will reunite the audience with Eleven, Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Max.Tales from ‘85 will see Eleven and her friends facing a new threat from the Upside Down despite Eleven closing the gate at the end of season 2. Thanks to this, they will come across never-before-seen monsters from the other dimension, such as monstrous vines and pumpkin zombies. In addition to this, the young Hawkins crew will be accompanied by a new friend. Tales from ‘85 will introduce Nikki Baxter , a teenage girl older than Eleven and her friends, who will join them as she also has a very close encounter with the creatures from the Upside Down. With the show being set between seasons of Stranger Things, it will inevitably retcon it. Many elements of Tales from ‘85 are determined by the events of Stranger Things season 2, and whatever happens in the animated show will have some impact on season 3, which is quite tricky as it arrives to add to an already existing show that ended not long ago. Tales from ‘85 Is A Huge Risk For Stranger Things As mentioned above, Tales from ‘85 arrives to add to an already established show, and that’s where its biggest risk lies. Tales from ‘85 will inevitably retcon parts of Stranger Things season 3 and possibly beyond, but it can’t retcon too much, or the rest of the main show won’t make sense, will be full of plot holes, and will have more unanswered questions. However, Tales from ‘85 can’t be an uneventful spinoff, either. While that would be the safest bet to avoid major retcons and plot holes in seasons 3, 4, and 5 of Stranger Things, Tales from ‘85 has to have some impact on the main show, otherwise making a spinoff would be pointless. The goal of Tales from ‘85 should be to cleverly add to the show, and while there will be some questions left , these shouldn’t be so big that they affect what Stranger Things built years ago. Is There Life For Stranger Things Beyond The Original Series? Tales from ‘85 has the potential to be a fun, more family-friendly adventure with Eleven and her friends, but it’s inevitable to question Netflix’s decision to make an in-between-seasons sequel and prequel rather than something new. Tales from ‘85 will test the audience’s interest in more stories from the world of Stranger Things, especially with the same characters. Perhaps the future of Stranger Things is in exploring stories outside the circle of Eleven and her friends, as there’s a lot more in Hawkins than just them. It would be interesting to see how the rest of the residents of Hawkins dealt with the events of Stranger Things, and, surely, Eleven and her crew weren’t the only ones who came across some Upside Down creatures. Stranger Things was so big and successful that it set the bar very high in its own world, but whether there’s life for it beyond the main show will be defined by how well Tales from ‘85 performs.
