Neighbors were shocked to hear that a 4-month-old Eagle Mountain baby died in his mother’s care in the early morning hours Tuesday. According to Utah County Sheriff’s Office, Raona Dorothy Mora, the baby’s mom, had a story inconsistent with the injuries doctors found in the hospital. Mora, 32, was booked into jail on a homicide charge and is currently being held without bail as of Wednesday evening.Police said there were other kids living in the home where this happened, but there hasn’t been any known calls to this home before.That was the first question Mortensen had when she saw the news of the baby’s death in the neighborhood. A place she has lived for many years.
For now, Mortensen said while she doesn’t know what happened, “You never know what’s behind the smile. Just be kind to people.”
