Negros Oriental has registered three new cases of the COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total number of active infections to 35.
The Bayawan City native is a 54-year-old male who came from a mercy boat trip from Bulacan province.
Mabinay town also reported another case involving a 26-year-old female who first arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport through a mercy flight from Manila. She was tested through Negros Occidental’s COVID-19 testing laboratory. Estacion said that all three cases did not show symptoms of the virus and were isolated at the government quarantine facilities in their respective localities.
The active case count in Negros Oriental rose to 35, most of whom involved soldiers from the Philippine Army’s 302nd Infantry Brigade who came from Cebu City.Estacion assured the public that there is still no local transmission of the coronavirus in the province, as all of the confirmed cases here were “imported.”
