Negri put aside past humiliation to score first Super League win against Terengganu

PETALING JAYA: Negri Sembilan coach K. Devan hailed his players’ character after they pulled off their first win in the Super League this season.

They overcame Terengganu 2-1 at the Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Paroi on Thursday – barely two weeks after their 7-0 heavy defeat to Johor Darul Ta’zim.

“We managed to secure three points with a spirited performance against Terengganu. They have worked hard and showed full commitment for 90 minutes. Devan had also made a tactical change by bringing in Tommy Mawat and Shahrel Fikry Fauzi for the experienced Mahali Jasuli and Filemon Anyie in the 67th minute.

“We played a good game and created a lot of chances. We could have decided the match in the first half where we had about four clear chances to score,” said Steinbruckner.
