The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested an officer of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Cebu City for alleged bribery.According to the agency, the NBI-Central Visayas Regional Office arrested BFP Fire Safety Enforcement Section chief Insp. Roy Sangueza Mat. Castro on Thursday, June 27, during an entrapment operation in Cebu City.
Castro was collared for alleged violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, direct bribery under Article 310 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended, and grave misconduct under the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.The operation stemmed from a complaint alleging that Castro asked for P400,000 in exchange for the complainant's name to be included in the final listing for oath-taking as fire safety officer.
