National Basketball Association players have agreed to a 25% reduction in their salaries while games are on hold because of the Coronavirus.
on March 11 became the first major U.S. sports league to pause its regular season, taking the step after a Utah Jazz player tested positive for the virus that has killed more than people. By agreeing to the withholding, the players would spread any lost salary over time instead of having checks stop immediately. Most players are compensated on a 12-month basis.
