The Chase Center in San Francisco was the epicenter of the league's best talent, with a Friday of celebrities, a Saturday of electrifying competitions, and a Sunday of pure magic on the court, where Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was awarded the Kobe Bryant Trophy for Most Valuable Player of the All-Star Game. The new format replaced the traditional conference clash with a mini single-elimination tournament. Four teams selected by figures like legends Shaquille O'Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Candace Parker, competed in 40-point games. Several teams faced off in a single-elimination format to reach these instances. In the final showdown, O'Neal's team, the Shaq's OGs, triumphed with authority over Barkley's team, the Chuck's Global Stars, with a score of 41-25. Jaren Barajas, an 18-year-old college student from Oakley, California, had the unique opportunity to participate in a contest created by the YouTuber known as Mr. Beast, which allowed him to win $100,000 by defeating Milwaukee Bucks player Damian Lillard in a shooting challenge. The challenge consisted of Barajas needing to sink a half-court shot before Lillard made three of them. The other participants were Buddy Hield, Darius Garland, Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham, Cam Johnson, and Norman Powell. The skills contest was marred by an embarrassing and unexpected incident when Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama were disqualified for trying to manipulate the rules to their liking. During their turn, players had to shoot at least three real shots at the basket for their participation to be considered valid, something they apparently didn't know.
