Jennifer Coffindaffer wrote on X that a number of individuals tied to the ring were"charged for many high-profile burglaries of athletes like Travis Kelce that we were tracking." She went on to point out that such rings were still operating in wealthy residential areas like the one Guthrie lives in.
Authorities believe that she was kidnapped and said that drops of her blood were found on the front porch of her home."What I find eerie is how the Chileans dress and how these rings are still operating in affluent communities like Nancy Guthrie's," she said. Coffindaffer's post includes an image of individuals that she says are"tied to a Chilean theft ring." The image looks to be security camera footage, is in black and white and shows two men with their faces covered and wearing hoodies.On February 10, the FBI released video footage from a doorbell camera that showed a masked man on Guthrie's porch on the night she disappeared. The FBI later said that this person was a suspect, and described him as 5 feet 9 or 10 inches tall, with an average build. In February of 2025, several men were charged in connection with a spree of burglaries that targeted professional athletes across the U.S. These included Kelce and his teammate, Patrick Mahomes. Players from the Milwaukee Bucks and Cincinnati Bengals were also targeted, . More than $2 million worth of goods were stolen from the homes of NBA and NFL players in a series of break-ins that began in October 2024 A federal complaint, which was unsealed in 2025, named the seven men charged in the burglaries, all of whom were Chilean nationals. They were named as: Pablo Zuniga Cartes, Ignacio Zuniga Cartes, Bastian Jimenez Freraut, Jordan Quiroga Sanchez, Bastian Orellano Morales, Alexander Huiaguil Chavez, and Sergio Ortega Cabello. A release from the Department of Justice about the charges and unsealing states that the individuals were “members of a South American Theft Group.”Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News on Monday: "There's so much that everybody wants to know, but I would be very neglectful, irresponsible as a police, law enforcement leader, to share that with everybody.""Veteran prosecutors from the Pima County Attorney's Office continue to work with the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the FBI, and the U.S. Attorney's Office regarding the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. “Ethical rules prevent us from making comments about the details of the case.
